Day One - Onboarding Begins

The hardest part of achieving our dreams is by showing up every day. Individually, I see challenges as an opportunity to create a solution. - this is my interpretation of the quote I heard from Mr. Fred Swaniker during the Karibu ceremony, Of all the hard things we have to do, the most difficult one is to keep going. By the way, Karibu means Welcome in Swahili.

On this note, you're welcome to my space. My name is Bayode, a Tech Passionate. It is safe to say this since I have a background in solving problems through product design skills. I decided to venture into Software Engineering because I have always wanted to provide solutions in even better and more tasking ways.

On the first day of this program, I woke up to emails from the SE team that will help me navigate through the day, and they are not void of challenges too( simple tasks once you watch and read the materials attached with the emails). The Karibu event began at 2:00 PM. The highly spirited Gavin hosted the event, and it was educative listening to all the Alx team, including one of the current students in the program. Michael was such an inspiration, a married banker in Nigeria. Then I asked myself, who am I that I won't be able to succeed with all the hurdles in Alx SE? The event ended after two hours of listening to the teams.

The final part of the event was when one of the team mentioned The Room Fellowship - An opportunity for talents in Africa. Mr. Fred Swaniker says Applying for a job is crucial, but putting in words for you is very important than applying. And this is what the The Room Fellowship is all about - connecting with people that matter in your career.
